Automated Guided Vehicles

Packaging

An Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) refers to a driverless fork-truck designed for industrial applications, primarily used to transport pallets or materials to and from predetermined locations within production facilities, warehouses, dock areas, and, more recently, directly into trucks. These vehicles receive operational commands from warehouse management systems, on-site equipment, or various software and hardware interfaces, enabling seamless integration into automated logistics workflows. AGVs are engineered to function continuously, operating 24/7 while maintaining high safety standards for both personnel and the surrounding environment.

Skilled AGVs are equipped with advanced navigation systems that precisely manage movement, including acceleration and deceleration, thereby reducing the risk of damage and ensuring reliable and efficient material handling. This level of precision makes AGVs an ideal solution for modern intralogistics. Skilled Group offers a range of AGV types, including Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs), Rail Guided Vehicles (RGVs), and Automatic Truck Loaders (ATLs), each tailored to meet specific operational requirements within automated transport systems.

Laser Guided Vehicles (LGV)

The Skilled LGV (Laser Guided Vehicle) is an advanced automatic forklift truck designed to integrate seamlessly with palletizing systems, enabling complete end-of-line automation. This integration leads to substantial cost savings and enhances overall production management. Typically equipped with forks capable of handling single or double pallets, as well as pallets that require lifting up to 10 meters within warehouse environments, these LGVs are highly customizable based on application-specific requirements. They can be fitted with various attachments such as clamps for roll handling or conveyors for unitized product transfer, allowing for exceptional flexibility. Skilled LGVs are suitable for deployment across any facility or industry where traditional forklift trucks are used.

Euroimpianti has established a strong presence in a wide range of sectors, including food, paper, tissue, automotive (particularly tire handling), beverages, chemical-cosmetic, pharmaceutical, dairy, electrical, glass, tobacco, and general manufacturing. The system provides numerous operational advantages, such as the automated transportation of varied products and pallets between production lines and storage or shipping zones, effectively eliminating the need for conveyor systems. It adheres to all current safety regulations and, due to its modular design, can be readily adapted to evolving production requirements. Moreover, installation is straightforward and efficient, minimizing disruption and preserving productivity during deployment.

Rail Guided Vehicles (RGV)

The SKILLED RGV is a rail-guided vehicle system developed within the same project framework as the Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs), and as such, it operates on similar foundational principles. Designed to travel exclusively in straight lines along a floor-level rail, the SKILLED RGV is purpose-built for linear movement. Its seamless integration with SKILLED ROBOTS palletising systems enables full end-of-line automation, resulting in significant cost savings and enhanced efficiency in production management. The system facilitates complete pallet handling to wrapping and/or storage areas while simultaneously delivering empty pallets and slip sheets to palletising cells. Its modular architecture offers exceptional flexibility for future expansions. Additionally, the absence of electrical connections and the option to embed rails into the floor ensures unobstructed access to production lines for both operators and vehicle drivers. The SKILLED RGV also adheres strictly to current safety laws and standards, ensuring safe and compliant operation.

Automatic Truck Loading *(ATL)

ATL, or Automatic Truck Loading, refers to the automation of loading trucks and trailers with products through the use of various Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems. Building on extensive experience with Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs) across multiple sectors and gaining the trust of its customers, Skilled Group has responded to the growing demand for automation in dispatch areas by developing and integrating its proprietary ATL technology. This solution leverages the flexibility of Skilled Group's vision-guided LGVs, which are equipped with bi-dimensional scanners capable of operating autonomously within loading bay environments. These systems efficiently handle the loading of product pallets onto lorries without manual intervention. ATL technology is widely adopted in a range of manufacturing industries, including food and beverage, paper, tissue, automotive, chemical and cosmetics, pharmaceutical, dairy, electrical, glass, tobacco, and other general manufacturing sectors.
