Extrufood's forming extruders are specifically engineered for the extrusion of a wide range of viscous confectionery masses, including but not limited to:

  • Licorice
  • Fruit gums
  • Fruit snacks
  • Sugar paste
  • Chewy candy
  • Toffees
  • Caramels

These twin-screw, co-rotating extruders are designed with a robust and adaptable construction, enabling them to accommodate and process various mass formulations. The intermeshing screws are self-wiping, which simplifies the cleaning process. The standard infeed section may be equipped with a twin-screw, counter-rotating configuration, providing a stable and de-aerated infeed that ensures a consistent mass flow through the extruder.

To meet specific product requirements, alternative infeed unit configurations can also be custom-designed. The extruder is mounted on a single base frame for stability and ease of integration. All product-contact components are fabricated from stainless steel, ensuring hygienic operation and compliance with food safety standards.

For the production of multi-colored products, Extrufood offers two advanced solutions:

  1. Diemix® System: When the mass remains mixable, the Diemix® blends color and flavor directly after the forming extruder, just before entering the die.
  2. Twin-Forming Extruder: This solution incorporates two extruders mounted on the same frame, each feeding into a shared forming die. It enables the production of two-colored products with precision and consistency.
